Warehouse Technician

Dynamic and rapidly growing Fine Art Services Company seeks a Warehouse Technician in support of our two Rockland County facilities. UOVO is the largest ground-up museum quality storage facility in the United States. The Warehouse Technician will have dual responsibility for completing general work requests associated with the day to day maintenance of the facilities at 33 Kings Highway and 100 Bradley in conjunction with the Facilities Manager and the wider Facilities team as well as assisting the Warehouses in Rockland moving and storing crates and other labor requests. The ideal candidate will have experience working in facilities maintenance and/or warehousing. They will have a strong work ethic and understanding of team work and safety in the work place.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager ensure all facility equipment is maintained
  • Escort and supervise vendors working on site in the facilities
  • Trouble shoot and assist staff members with various request in a timely manner
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the Facility as well as making sure levels of supplies are maintained
  • Relaying or repairing flooring as needed i.e painting, carpeting
  • Replacing lightbulbs and other minor repairs throughout the facilities
  • In conjunction with the Facilities team assess extraordinary maintenance required for the property i.e. replacing guttering, parking lot repairs, repairing outside lighting, perimeter fence, landscaping, carpets etc)
  • Shoveling snow and depositing ice melt as necessary during inclement weather and required maintenance to prep for seasonal changes
  • Relaying or repairing flooring and walls as needed (i.e. carpeting, painting)
  • Responding and reporting any and all equipment failures or building emergencies
  • Working with the Warehouse team to shelve and move crates, bins and other materials in conjunction with keeping an orderly and well run Warehouse
  • Receive and release shipments, maintaining accurate inventory and condition reporting when applicable
  • Maintain storage rooms according to customer wishes, space and safety
  • Loading and unloading trucks as required

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Team Player, active problem solver, able to work in a dynamic environment across multiple departments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise details regarding building issues
  • The ability to multi task in a fast paced environment while ensuring the utmost attention to detail
  • Innate ability to make quick sound decisions
  • Certifications for fire watch, sprinkler standpipe and fire pump is preferable
  • Occasional nights and weekends required; flexible schedule is preferable  
  • Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift and/or other warehouse equipment preferable
  • 2-3 years’ experience in warehousing or building maintenance preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation
  • On-call availability
