Artinfo reports on the UOVO Prize, an annual award given by the Brooklyn Museum to an emerging artist living or working in Brooklyn, supported by UOVO: “The selected artist will stage a solo exhibition at the museum, a public installation on the facade of UOVO’s forthcoming facility in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood, and receive a cash prize of $25,000. Chosen by a jury of curators from the Brooklyn Museum, the winner will be announced in June 2019. The jury members will nominate local artists in a closed selection process. Three candidates will submit proposals for an exhibition as well as a design for the “UOVO: BROOKLYN” facade. The selected artist’s installation will remain in place for a year. The public installation will open in fall 2019, concurrent with the opening of “UOVO: BROOKLYN,” and the exhibition will take place at the Museum in 2020.”
