Color Magazine: Brooklyn Museum Awards Photographer John Edmonds Inaugural UOVO Prize
John Edmonds is a Brooklyn-based photographer who is best known for his sensitive depictions of young Black men and who has shown in various group shows such as the 2019 Whitney Biennal. Edmonds has been awarded the inaugural UOVO Prize, which consists of a cash prize, a solo exhibit in the Brooklyn Museum, and a large scale installation on the facade of UOVO: Brooklyn. The UOVO Prize was designed to support the borough’s remarkable emerging artists and “We are delighted by the Brooklyn Museum’s selection of John Edmonds,” says Steven Guttman, founder, and chairman of UOVO.
