John Edmonds Talks to Bushwick Daily about Winning the UOVO Prize
Photographer John Edmonds talks to Evan Brown of Bushwick Daily about winning the inaugural UOVO Prize, awarded by the Brooklyn Museum. As the winner, Edmonds receives a $25,000 unrestricted cash grant, a solo show at the Brooklyn Museum, and a 50 x 50-foot installation on the facade of of UOVO’s forthcoming art and fashion storage location in Bushwick. The two-story mural will be unveiled this fall, when the new facility—UOVO’s fourth dedicated to art storage and services—opens. Discussing the photograph he selected for the monumental UOVO: BROOKLYN installation, the artist notes, “It’s something I have had in the back of my mind for some time.”
