The Brooklyn Museum awards John Edmonds The UOVO Prize – Artsy

Brooklyn based photographer John Edmonds is the first recipient of The UOVO Prize, a collaboration between the Brooklyn Museum and the NYC based art storage facility UOVO. The UOVO Prize was announced earlier this year calling for emerging artists in the Brooklyn area. In addition to a solo show at the Brooklyn Museum Edmonds will also have his work installed on the facade of UOVO: Brooklyn, our forthcoming storage facility in the Bushwick neighborhood. Edmonds uses his portraits and still lives to challenge the historical canon of traditional art, his works have been featured in such shows as the 2019 Whitney Biennial and Company Gallery.
