The Observer Selects the UOVO Prize Exhibition as a Must-See
The Observer‘s fall arts preview includes “John Edmonds: A Sidelong Glance” at the Brooklyn Museum as one of 11 must-see exhibitions this season. Opening October 23rd, Edmonds’s solo show is part of the UOVO Prize, a new annual award given to an emerging artist living or working in the borough. Inaugurated in 2019, the award’s recipient is independently chosen by a team of Brooklyn Museum curators. The selected artist receives a solo exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, a 50 x 50 ft installation on the façade of UOVO’s latest facility in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood, and an unrestricted cash grant of $25,000.
