UOVO to Support Feature Hudson Booth at Frieze NY
UOVO, Frieze New York’s Official Service Provider for the fifth year, is proud to contribute additional support to the fair’s first-ever themed section. Titled For Your Infotainment: Hudson and Feature Inc., the section will celebrate the legacy of maverick art dealer Hudson (1950-2014), who went only by his last name, and his gallery, Feature Inc. Matthew Higgs (White Columns, New York) will curate For Your Infotainment, including the UOVO-sponsored booth created with the Feature Hudson Foundation (FHF), a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, promoting, sustaining and maintaining the archives and art of Feature Inc. and Hudson. A key highlight of the section, the FHF booth will showcase artists selected for the central role they played in Hudson’s visionary thinking, including Lisa Beck, Richard Kern, Roy McMakin, Kay Rosen, Nancy Shaver and Lily Van der Stokker.
UOVO Founder and Chairman Steven Guttman said, “Our partnership with Frieze dates back to the first New York fair, so it was important for us to support this exciting evolution of the fair’s programming. Preserving art history and our shared cultural legacies is a guiding principal for UOVO, so we are proud to support the FHF’s valuable work at the fair.”
“UOVO has been a key partner for the last five years, so we knew we could count on their vision and expert transportation and installation services to help realize the FHF booth,” said Loring Randolph, Frieze Artistic Director of the Americas. “UOVO’s close relationships with the New York gallery community meant they understood the significance of colleagues paying homage to a figure like Hudson within the context of the fair.”
“Hudson was among the most innovative art dealers of the past 30 years, and it is critical that we do not forget his contributions. I am grateful to UOVO for helping us realize the FHF booth, so fair visitors can learn more about his life and impact,” said Matthew Higgs.
