Fleet Manager

Dynamic and rapidly growing Fine Art Services Company seeks a full-time Fleet Manager to manage NY based trucking fleet and team of Drivers.  UOVO is the largest ground-up museum quality storage facility in the United States. The ideal candidate will have strong transportation management, people management and administrative skills; experience working in New York City art services and/or transportation industries.  The candidate will be overseeing the efficient execution of UOVO’s Fleet Maintenance Program for UOVO’s trucking & vehicle fleet, as well as managing UOVO’s team of Art Handlers/ Drivers. The Fleet Manager will report to UOVO’s Transportation Manager.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Research and develop efficient load planning techniques, trucking routes and fleet management enhancements to continually improve trucking efficiencies throughout UOVO’S fleet
  • Manage fleet administration program, including DOT regulations and compliance, driver logs, vendor support and all other supporting systems related to UOVO’s vehicle fleet
  • Organize, budget and maintain vendor relationships to manage the physical maintenance of the fleet including preventative maintenance, repairs and overall appearance of all UOVO vehicles
  • Track and analyze all data related to vehicle accidents, incidents and insurance issues pertaining to UOVO’s vehicles in order to spot trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead, manage and mentor a team of highly skilled art handlers/drivers
  • Manage all material orders for UOVO’s LIC facility & field services, ensuring efficient ordering, accurate billing and budget reconciliation
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all offsite and day-of scope changes, questions and on-the-spot issues
  • Oversee the scheduling of offsite equipment, ensuring that there are no conflicts with double-booking or location of machinery
  • Scope, estimate and project plan transport and offsite client requests in a timely manner and in collaboration with the Sales and Accounts teams for site visits
  • Prep art handlers and crew chiefs for future work orders, taking lead on material prep for larger projects
  • Maintain and enforce professional art handling standards and client service, providing leadership and mentorship for art handling teams
  • Support the Dispatcher when necessary
  • Evaluate Offsite/Transport work orders daily

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Team Player, able to work in a dynamic environment
  • 3 – 5 years of people management; as well as logistical and transportation-related experience
  • Comfortable in a results-driven workplace
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Excellent communication, administrative and multitasking skills
