
John Auerbach
John Auerbach comes to UOVO from Sotheby’s where he was the Executive Vice President of Art, Objects, Luxury and Digital Businesses. Prior to Sotheby’s, Mr. Auerbach was the Interim Global Head of Digital and Ecommerce Strategy for Kate Spade & Co, following three years as the International Managing Director for Digital and eCommerce at Christie’s. Mr. Auerbach was also a member of the founding team of Gilt Groupe, and served as the President of Gilt’s men’s business. Mr. Auerbach is currently the Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of LiveArt Holdings and was the Founder and Chairman of Eloquii, a digitally-native direct to consumer women’s fashion brand that was acquired by Walmart. He serves on the Board of Directors of Monro Inc. Mr. Auerbach holds a B.A. from Duke University and an M.B.A from the Columbia Business School.
Mr. Auerbach and his husband Ed Tang are avid collectors and have significant institutional involvement, having gifted and pledged works to numerous institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum, the Walker Art Center, LACMA, the High Museum of Atlanta, and the ICA Miami. They have also started an artist residency, the Beecher Residency, that will take place at their Marcel Breuer designed home in Litchfield, Connecticut. Mr. Auerbach serves on the Board of Advisors of the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles and is a member of the Tate International Council.
