Real Simple Reviews UOVO Fashion

July 12, 2024

As any fellow New Yorker or urban dweller can attest, the biggest commodity in the city is space. This became even more apparent to me when I moved from my relatively spacious apartment in Jersey City to the thick of Manhattan, where I had to go from four closets (two of them walk-ins) to two small ones.

As a fashion editor with an unreasonable amount of clothes, downsizing my closet was an extremely stressful task. I’m also somewhat sartorially sentimental, meaning I get attached to my clothing and the memories associated with wearing it. While I donate as much as I can, there are some pieces that are just too hard to give away—while I won’t wear them as often as other pieces, they bring me joy (even Marie Kondo couldn’t fight my justification).

The biggest challenge of all was coats, which are bulky and take up so much space—yet I only wore 25 percent of the year. I couldn’t get rid of them in June since I’d need them come November, but I had absolutely no more space in my bursting closets that were already fighting for their lives.

That’s when I came across UOVO, a company designed for the sole purpose of storage. But this isn’t just any storage—this is storage 2.0.
