UOVO: Art, Fashion, Wine, the premier storage and logistics provider for fine art, archives, and collectibles, announces its acquisition of Artpack, the leading art storage and services provider in Detroit, Michigan and the Midwest region since 1981. With this expansion, UOVO adds to its robust network of over 30 facilities across the country, further solidifying its market position in the industry.

Wendy MacGaw, Vice President, CFO of Artpack, says, “UOVO Fine Art’s mission, standards, and their involvement in the arts community align with our core values as a company. Over the past four decades, we have had the honor of working with collectors, galleries, and institutions that have allowed our company to grow into what it is today. We are thrilled to welcome UOVO to our community with this acquisition, to provide its access and services to our clientele, and expand our legacy into the future.”

With this expansion, UOVO establishes proximity to the region’s esteemed arts clientele and bolsters the connection between communities of institutions and collectors in the Midwest with their counterparts across the country. The 35,000 ft2 Detroit facility will serve as a space for clients to store, ship, install, and otherwise manage and maintain their fine art using UOVO’s white glove collection management services, integrated with its national shuttle, account services, and international shipping. Clients also gain access to UOVO’s proprietary client portal.

UOVO is excited to welcome Artpack’s longtime clientele and collaborators, which have included major individual collectors, such as the Gilbert and Lila Silverman Collection, The Manoogian Collection, and institutions such as Detroit Institute of Art; the US Pavilion at the Winter Olympics in Nagano; and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Among Artpack’s recent projects is the disassembling and shipping of the Jackson House–an important site in the history of the Selma Marches in 1965–in Selma, Alabama, which is being reconstructed at The Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village.

Furthering Artpack’s legacy, in August, UOVO will transport the works for In the Life: Black Queerness – Looking Back, Moving Forward, co-curated by MR/QD Creative Director Patrick Burton and independent Curator Wayne Northcross, from New York to Detroit. The show will be on view at the Carr Center in Detroit from September 5-October 11, 2025.

Cyril Pietrafesa, Non-Executive Director at UOVO, says, “We are thrilled to expand our footprint to the Midwest, a region with leading museums, cultural institutions, galleries, and a vibrant community of collectors, all of whom we look forward to serving. It is a privilege for us to build on Artpack’s leading position, and we are grateful to Wendy MacGaw and Ted Hadfield for their vision and collaboration as we mark this transition.
